What to do when you are unable to intelligently contradict indisputable and inconvenient facts of global warming confirmed by established science?
Well-informed, scientifically savvy people will accept scientific findings, adapt to realities, and deal with facts.
On the other hand, charlatans and other purveyors of misinformation will continue to confuse the MMGW issue by any means they think up.
Like the amusing letter “A ‘catastrophe’ predicted almost 50 years ago” (April 22) by Anthony Watts.
Anthony appears to be making his case against global warming when talking about the doomsday prediction from the 1973 movie “Soylent Green.”
While his movie review is entertaining, his pseudo-scientific conclusion is on par with Trump-Republican “alternate realities.”
Instead of pretending to be a climatologist, Mr. Watts should become a critic of apocalyptic films. He can start by reviewing and refuting “Colossus, The Forbin Project”, where an American and Soviet supercomputer takes over the world in order to save humanity from annihilation in a nuclear Armageddon.
Thereafter, he will be able to review and contradict “Planet of the Apes” “War of the Worlds” and many other films of the apocalyptic genre.
