Hilaria Baldwin has suggested that ‘enemies’ sought to ‘destroy’ her husband Alec Baldwin’s life.
The yoga instructor, who is currently expecting her seventh child with the 30 Rock actor, took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a black and white photo of the couple cuddling in bed. In the accompanying caption, Hilaria reflected on some of the “darker” aspects of being married to a man in the public eye.
“The darkest part is seeing behind the curtain how some of this ‘business’ can work and the beatings and sacrifices someone in the public eye takes to stand up for what they believe in and to help the others,” the 38-year-old said. wrote. “The enemies of these missions seek to destroy you, in order to delegitimize your voice and your purpose. This is not a new tactic…it’s as old as history…yet, as it is now more easier than ever to slander people and pick and piece together strands taken out of context, “opinions” or complete fabrications, and how some people believe in them or keep quiet out of fear.
Alec and Hilaria have had a tough few years. In December 2020, the entrepreneur was accused of faking her Spanish accent and misleading people about her nationality, while last October the 64-year-old unloaded a gun used as a prop on the set of Rust, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joël Souza.
Alec has always maintained his innocence and recently said he was “very hopeful” that he would not be held criminally responsible for the fatal shooting.
And while Hilaria didn’t explicitly reference the incidents in her post, she praised her partner for being “human.”
“Unfortunately, having experienced dehumanization myself (another old tactic for pursuing your enemy’s wife)…brings us to times when we think: how long can a body and mind endure before collapse under psychological shock? torture?” she asked. “We know you are carrying a heavy load, using the privileged place of your public voice for good. Not everyone with your privilege chooses this path. And we know it is difficult. So many people love you, AB, we’re here to lean on you and feel safe.”
