ILFOCOLOR – New “retro” single-use camera from ILFORD

ILFORD sponsored Mike Smith’s Ford Escort RS Turbo in the 1980s. The ILFORD Ford Escort RS Turbo was even produced as a collector’s item.

Ilford Imaging Europe, Bergisch Gladbach/Germany – ILFORD is pleased to announce the launch of the ILFORD ILFOCOLOR Rapid Retro Edition single-use camera.

This follows the success of the ILFORD Sprite 35-II compact reusable film camera, announced late last year. And as with the Sprite – originally released in the 1960s – the ILFOCOLOR Rapid pays homage to ILFORD’s past: although ILFORD was well known for its black and white film, it also sold a range of film negatives ILFOCOLOR color.

It’s a great way to try out the film’s distinctive look and feel without breaking the budget.

The ILFORD ILFOCOLOR Rapid single-use camera comes pre-loaded with ISO 400 color negative film at 27 exposures. The fast film combined with a built-in flash makes the ILFOCOLOR Rapid a versatile tool, delivering excellent results outdoors and indoors also in low light conditions.

Unlike many digital cameras, the single-use film camera has an optical viewfinder, essential for shooting in direct sunlight. It is equipped with a wide-angle f11 lens (31 mm) with a fixed focal length. Shutter speed is 1/125 sec. The camera provides sharp images up to 1m. It comes pre-loaded with one AAA battery, with a 15-second recycle time for low-light shooting and daylight fill flash.

Sustainability Education
In the production and packaging of disposable cameras, sustainability is a particular concern for ILFORD. Since too few people still know that disposable cameras can be easily recycled, Ilford will educate through an ongoing campaign.
