James Gunn is looking forward to continuing to work with Daniela Melchior.
The 25-year-old actress previously worked with the 55-year-old director on ‘The Suicide Squad’, and they were previously reunited on ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’, which also stars Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana.
Following speculation about her involvement in the film, James wrote on Twitter: “I can confirm (and confirm that she is wonderful in the role). @MelchiorDaniela is one of my favorite people and actors, and I hopefully this is only the second of many projects we’ll be working on together. (sic)”
‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ is set to be released in 2023 and James has confirmed via social media that production work has recently been completed.
The director – who helmed ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and its sequel ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ – wrote on Twitter in May: “After over 100 days of filming and over 3000 shots, here is the slate for the latest shot of #GotGVol3, presented by the film crew. It was an easy shot of Rocket sitting down, 1st with @seangunn , and then nothing there, and I took it all in so I didn’t break down sobbing in place.
“Again, I will continue to work with them over the next year until they come out, but filming this final shot reminded me of the warm impermanence of life and love, and how this impermanence makes it so precious, so precious, and is a good reason to be grateful for what I have right now.
“Anyway. The film crew also glued their handmade camera lens caps to the back of the slate for me. Lots of love to you all. (sic)”
