Lucien Laviscount promoted to series regular on Emily In Paris – Actu Ciné |

Lucien Laviscount has been promoted to a regular role in Emily In Paris.

Emily In Paris creator and executive producer Darren Star announced during the show’s PaleyFest roundtable on Sunday that Lucien, who plays Alfie on the show, will now be a main cast member.

In the upcoming third and fourth seasons of the hit Netflix comedy, Alfie will play an increasingly important role as the titular character’s new love interest, Variety reports.

Sunday’s panel members also included Lucien himself, as well as lead actress Lily Collins, director Andrew Fleming and fellow show stars Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo and Camille Razat.

During the panel, Darren jokingly asked Lucien if he was free for filming.

“I’m free!” Lucien insisted. “I’m sure I’m free.”

While Darren didn’t reveal specific plot details for the next two seasons, he did touch on one aspect of Emily’s love life. He said that although the heroine “always wants to do the right thing”, she tends to fall into love triangles which “make her head hurt thinking about it”.

Darren revealed that Season 3 is set to begin production in June.

A focus point for him during production, he said, will be making sure they shoot in a range of locations.

“We are always thinking about how we can show Paris,” he explained. “It’s not hard to make Paris amazing, because it is, no matter where you look or where you point the camera. We will always want the story to lead to places, but we have very beautiful places planned for season three in France, not only in Paris.”
