Sharon Stone ‘lost nine children’ to miscarriages – Film News |

Sharon Stone has revealed that she lost a total of nine children to miscarriages.

Earlier this week, Dancing with the Stars pro Peta Murgatroyd revealed to People magazine that she suffered a miscarriage while husband Maksim Chmerkovskiy was in his native Ukraine.

People editors shared the story on the publication’s Instagram account, and in the comments, the Basic Instinct star spoke candidly about her miscarriage experience and called on women experiencing pregnancy loss to receive more of support and compassion.

“As women we have no forum to discuss the depth of this loss. I have lost nine children through miscarriage,” she wrote. “It’s no small feat, physically or emotionally, but we’re made to feel like it’s something to bear alone and secretly with a kind of sense of failure. Instead of receiving compassion, empathy and the healing we so desperately need. Women’s health and well-being left to the care of male ideology has become lax at best, ignorant in fact, and violently oppressive in the effort.”

The 64-year-old has been open about her experiences with pregnancy loss in the past. She has an autoimmune disease and endometriosis, which prevented her from having biological children.

Sharon is the mother of three adopted sons – Roan, 22, Laird, 17 and Quinn, 16.
