Sophie Turner wants to make more films and experiment with “more bizarre” projects.
After rising to prominence on the television series Game of Thrones, the actress made a handful of films, including X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix, in which she played the mutant Jean Grey.
Since Game of Thrones ended in 2019, the 26-year-old has remained mostly on television, with shows such as Survive and The Staircase, and she can’t wait to get back to acting, especially unconventional films.
“I did the big franchises. So now, because I don’t have all the time in the world, if I want to commit to something on television, it has to be special,” he said. she explained to ELLE UK magazine. “I want to move on with the weirdest things. Say, ‘That was crazy, and unlike anything I’ve ever done before.'”
Sophie added that she would love to work with independent studio A24, which has made critically acclaimed films such as Moonlight, Midsommar, Uncut Gems and The Witch.
“That’s what excites me about the film industry, especially with places like A24. It’s the kind of world I want to live in. But I still consider myself an actor,” the star said. .
While she had some free time in Atlanta, where The Staircase was filmed, Sophie made a guest appearance in Strangers, a dark comedy starring Maya Hawke, and she hopes to do more.
“It was fun. I hadn’t really done comedy before, but it was incredibly freeing. I’m going to try to do more,” she added.
Sophie is currently expecting her second child with husband Joe Jonas.
