The 2022 Chicago Critics Film Festival opens with “Cha Cha Real Smooth” on May 13

CHICAGO – Another great film festival is back, as the Chicago Critics Film Festival opens May 13, 2022 with “Cha Cha Real Smooth” at the Music Box Theater. The Fest runs until May 19, click CCFF for timetables and ticket information.

“Cha Cha Real Smooth” won the Audience Favorite Award at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, and star director/actor Cooper Raiff will make an appearance on behalf of the film. Opening Night will also feature Chloe Okuno’s “Watcher” and Christian Tafdrup’s “Speak No Evil”. The Closing Night movie will be ‘I Love My Dad’ – Narrative Features’ best movie ever SXSW – and will feature lead actors Patton Oswalt and James Morosini (also writer/director). The 9th Chicago Critics Film Festival returns after a truncated event in 2021 and the cancellation of the 2020 pandemic. It is the only film festival hosted by film critics and spotlights 2022 films from festivals from the first year like Sundance and SXSW.
